CONTINUING EDUCATION IS REQUIRED BY LAW FOR ALL COACHES WHO ALREADY POSESS A
5 YEAR COACHING PERMIT
The Coaching Regulation ( Enacted 1999): A coaching permit shall be valid from the effective date and shall be renewable every five years upon completion of not less than 15 clock hours of seminars, course work or workshops which provides information on safe and healthful coaching practices and understanding child and adolescent development, as approved by the Department of Education.
Note: The Connecticut Coaching Education Program CEU Modules are maintained through a comprehensive data base which is made available to the SDE to expedite any auditing system they may employ.
It is strongly recommended you submit your ED185 Form requesting to renew your permit at least 6 weeks prior to the expiration date. Please note that proof of current CPR and First Aid must accompany your ED185.
